Ashland is located directly on Interstate 5 in southern Oregon, just north of the California state line. Its about 4 hours by car from Portland and 5 hours from the Bay Area.
To get to the site, Buckhorn Springs Resort, you would get off at Exit 14 from I-5, then head east on Highway 66/Ashland St. until the Mile 9 marker, you then want to turn right onto Buckhorn Road (also signs for the Greensprings Power Plant). Veer to the left about a half mile down that road to stay on Buckhorn Rd. After 2 miles total on the gravel road you will come to a fork. Turn to the right, going over the bridge, then proceeding 3/4 mile to enter to the left at the gate to Buckhorn Springs. For those traveling by air, the closest airport is Medford (MFR). From there, its about 20 minutes to Ashland and 40 minutes to Buckhorn Springs resort. There are daily non-stop flights to MFR from Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Denver, Eugene, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Phoenix-Mesa (the latter two are served exclusively by Allegiant Air with only bi-weekly flights, they are inexpensive though rarely mentioned on most flight search engines; please also note that Phoenix-Mesa is NOT PHX airport).
Other options would be to fly into either Portland, San Francisco, Oakland, or Sacramento, renting a car from there, and driving up to Ashland. This option may offer cheaper flights, though obviously more driving time.
We are looking into a way of getting people to and from the Medford airport and we would encourage people to send us their flight details so we can try to arrange some sort of shuttle on Friday and Sunday. However, if you are planning on coming a few days early and/or staying late and enjoying the surrounding area and sites (highly recommended), you may want to rent a car at the airport, which serves most major car rental companies.
