Canda was born in East Germany and was 9 years old when the Wall came down. Her parents relocated to the Black Forest in the southwest part of Germany where she lived until she was 18. She traveled extensively in Asia and Australia before coming to the US for the first time in 2007. She originally did not think she wanted to come here but felt called to the land and the Native American spirit.
Michael was born in West Virginia on a spiritual community that his parents were part of founding. He lived in Atlanta and then Saint Louis before he headed out west. After spending 4 years at Whitman College he studied at a massage school in Hawaii and then settled in Ashland to begin his healing practice.
We first met officially in August of 2008 at an amazing festival called 'Beloved' in the forested hills near the central Oregon coast. We say "officially" because we later discovered that we had both been in Palenque, Mexico on the same night, the lunar eclipse, in March of that year and possibly encountered eachother. At the time we both were opening to big transitions in our lives and there was a strong connection from the beginning. We discovered many lessons and gifts we had for eachother and in a very short time became intuitively aware that we could see ourselves together and having children.
After Canda got pregnant we traveled to Thailand for the winter and then to Germany for the birth of our magical child, Ananda Malakai, in the summer of 2009. That fall we came back to the US where we've been getting Canda her Green Card (just completed May 18th!) and preparing for our wedding. Ashland was the perfect place to settle for now and we are so excited to share this area with all of you in a couple months.
