The next morning I had to hurry. I boarded a train to Strasbourg, a small French city near the German border. Sun and rain and lush lovely green countryside flowed by before my eyes. At the Strasbourg station, Noémie and Jacques, a brother-sister tandem I'd met at Burning Man 2004, met me. We walked out of the station right into a perfect small city. Narrow streets of cafes and shops. A stunning thousand-year-old cathedral. A city center free of cars. A world without parking lots. And so here I am in Strasbourg. The world is a playground. |
